Heartstopper's Kit Connor responds to Marvel superhero rumors
Heartstopper star Kit Connor has responded to rumors that he was to play the superhero Hulkling in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The rumor began earlier this month, when MyTimeToShineHello and The Cosmic Circus mentioned on X/Twitter that Marvel wanted Connor to play Hulkling in an upcoming series and films.
Conor was asked about this rumor over the weekend at San Diego Comic Con.
It was understood that this role was to be played by Joe Locke, Connor's boyfriend in Heartstopper.
But earlier this month, despite confirming that he would appear in Agatha All Along, Locke claimed that his gay character was called Teen. Today, Connor told Horowitz that the rumors were false and that he was leaving the Marvel universe to Locke.
" My friend sent me this rumor, no I'm not... not that I know of," he said. "My friend Joe is very involved with Marvel, and he has a very exciting project coming up, and I wouldn't want to get in his way.
“I think he’s going to kill and I can’t wait to see that. I’m going to leave that to him for a good long while, I reckon.”
Fans don't believe this denial at all, and contingent on Conor interpreting the role.
"Everyone who is gonna play a MCU role says the same thing: ‘I know nothing about it’. This means nothing,” one fan wrote on social media.
Another said: “When it comes to the MCU, actors are like: ‘What, no, I’m not, I don’t know what you’re talking about’. I don’t trust them. So until someone gets confirmed, I won’t believe anything.”
